Sale Sharks are happy to declare that Will Addison has been chosen as the captain of the team and he will captain the side during the season of 2017/18.


Addison, who is 24-year-old, in 2011 made his debut for the Sharks and after that he made 97 Appearances for the club, scoring 149 points.

During the last season, Will was in great form, before getting injured, he took up a foot injury during the match at Saracens, and that put him out from the matches for the rest of the year. Nevertheless, prior to getting injured, he was a great player and he played his career’s some of the best rugby of his career, moreover, he also captained the side on a number of times when Josh Beaumont was absent. The impact of Will and his leadership post Christmas helped team Sharks to witness some of the emphatic wins.

Steve Diamond, the Director of Rugby said, “With his game, Will have continually impressed me. He has the natural leadership ability and a great commitment towards the club. Wills has a good communication skill and that make his a great communicator.

In Sharks, he is a well respected person and gets respect from everyone. If the form of this player continues to improve, there is no doubt that he will on the radar of England radar.”

When asked Wills about his appointment as captain, he said: “When Ged (Mason), Dimes, Simon (Orange) approached with the offer, I accepted immediately. Obviously, it is an honor to be the captain the club that has helped me grow up as a professional player. As far as the challenges of captaincy are concerned, I am all excited about it and I am enthusiastically looking forward to work with the boys and lead them.”
