Sale Sharks have confirmed the departure of Kingsley Jones. Jones, who helped lead Sale to the Premiership title in 2006, has been forwards coach and head coach before taking up his current role in 2009.

He said: “I have had a very fulfilling and rewarding time at the club and it is now right to move on.

“I will be looking to get back into a role with more hands on coaching.”

Andrew Sheridan has committed his future with the sale rugby union. The 31-year-old, who had been linked with a move to France this summer, joined the Sharks from Bristol in 2003 and has played 100 games for the club.

Sale chief executive Mick Hogan said: “I know he has turned down some big offers from other clubs.

“He is one of the best prop forwards in the world and we are thrilled he has made this commitment to stay with us.”
