GREG EDEN SET TO OUTSHINE DENNY SOLOMONA

Since joining the Castleford Tigers, Greg Eden has made 20 appearances for his club side, touching down a remarkable 33 times for the Super League leaders.

Eden, who arrived from the NRL side Brisbane Broncos at the close-season, was shipped in to replace Denny Solomona who had jumped ship last year in a bitter cross-code move to Sale Sharks.

The Solomonadeal finally endedlast week by an out-of-court settlement which cost a littlehigher than £200,000.

Eden, who is born and bred at Castleford as well as a product of the club’s vaunted academy system, is chiseled from a slightly different stone from Solomona.

However, his lethal finishing skills have been much of a great help for the Daryl Powell led side as they climbed up the league summit.

Castleford now sits six points clear at the summit of the Super League and there are hopes of him going on to outride and outshine Solomona’sachievements.

The 26 year old who was at Castleford’s vintage Wheldon Road stadium yesterday noted that setting a new record would be a great feat to achieve.
“It would be great to pull it off and set a new record. Winning a trophy is more important, but it would be nice if it happened. The good thing is that we’ve still got plenty of games left and I’m not that far away.” he said
In his last seven outings, Eden has scored no less than five hat-tricks. He has been a supporter of Castleford since he was a child and at the age of 12, he joined them at scholarship level.

Before he got the opportunity to join Brisbane on a two year deal ahead of the 2015 campaign, Eden had spells at Huddersfield and Hull Kr.
